ML4Microbiome Training School 2023
ML4Microbiome is glad to announce the Training School 2023 edition on Machine Learning approaches & methods for the analysis of microbiome data.
The Training School (TS) will take place on the 6th, 7th and 8th of March in Utrecht (The Netherlands) at the University campus of Utrecht University, the Uithof:
Utrecht University – Androclus building
Yalelaan 1, 3984 CL, Utrecht
C.139 (first floor)
The lecture hall is easy reachable by Tram Line 22, to the “Uithof” and there are also busses.
Travel from Schiphol Airport to Utrecht can be done by train. Take the “intercity” from Schiphol to Utrecht. Should take about 35 minutes. Alternatively, if you fly to Eindhoven, take the bus N400 or N401 from Eindhoven Airport to Eindhoven Centraal (the train station) and then the “intercity” from Eindhoven to Utrecht. This can take 1.5 hrs.
Accommodation can e.g. be found on booking.com. Please see an example below:
It is recommended to book walking distance from the train station, Hampton by Hilton is on the train station itself, but there are many others.
Lectures and Practicals will only be available in person.
The training material for the hands-on part will be made available to registered people before the school starts.
Access to the material and practicals will only require a web browser. The interface is based on Jupyterhub/Jupyterlab and is tested with Chrome and Firefox. Edge and Safari may work but are untested. All analysis is done remotely in the cloud so no need to install the software.
Knowledge of R is required as all exercises are in R. We recommend taking a basic R course as preparation for this course.
To have an idea about the content of the course, please find here the material from the 2021 online version:
