STSM call – ML4Microbiome seeking for a researcher visiting the Department of Computing, University of Turku, Finland
The research team of associate prof. Leo Lahti is seeking a researcher willing to support the development and benchmarking of data analysis techniques in human microbiome studies to accomplish the objectives of ML4Microbiome WG2.
The collaboration can be carried out by submitting a request for a Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) or Virtual Mobility (VM) grant.
Leo Lahti’s team focuses on the development of computational methods for microbial ecology and metagenomics. The timing and content of the STSM or VM activity will be agreed upon together with the candidate.

Job Position available as Postdoctoral Assistant in Bioinformatics & Genomics
The laboratory of Prof. Alexandre Kuhn at the Institute of Life Technologies is seeking a motivated and experienced bioinformatician with a strong background in the analysis of high-throughput DNA sequencing data.
Deadline for application: 5 December 2021
Selection criteria
PhD degree and strong track record in Bioinformatics, Computational Genomics or equivalent
Previous experience with the analysis of sequencing data generated with Oxford Nanopore Technologies and/or with microbial genomics is an advantage
Enthusiastic team player keen on interacting with molecular biologists, able to share their bioinformatics wizardry with the team
Ability to work independently and drive projects to the finish-line
In addition to English, good knowledge of French (or German) is desired
